I invite you to visit the Loire Castles or to make tourist tours while going along the valleys of the main rivers: Loire, Cher, Indre, Vienne. You can also be interested in Medieval History or in monuments as Medieval Castles of this area which has a very rich historical past. The countryside is relatively flat apart from the valleys and some small roads are not attended too much by the cars, it is thus possible to perform some interesting Bicycle Promenades.

The Medieval Castles of the Center of France are the image of the social life between year 1000 and year 1500. It was the time of feudality, where the local Lords dominated the populations neighbourhood. Only the Catholic Church could sometimes counterbalance their power.

From an historical point of view, the area of the Loire Valley had a great importance during the Medieval Time.
Indeed the French dynasty of Capetiens stems from from the heads of old Neustrie, the English dynasty of Plantagenets comes from the Counts of Anjou and the Counts of Blois have tried everything, even to obtain the Romano-Germanic Empire.

Later in the XV and XVIemes centuries the Kings of France frequently remained in the Loire Valley.
